Past Beautiful Booths:

May 2008:

Susan Fishel

Organic. That's the word that kept popping into my head as I chatted with Susan Fishel about her beautiful booth and beautiful work. Shapes and colors inspired by waves and flowers abound. Her business itself has also developed in an organic fashion. She started out in the garage, tinkering and playing and teaching herself to be a potter as an artistic outlet while raising her son. As her business has developed over the years, so has her style. Responding to her customers, she has shifted the shapes and colors to please herself and them. Susan says she's making more functional pieces now, as that's what folks want to buy. Next season she's looking forward to incorporating her love of gardening, and introducing planter/pots with flowers.

The multi-level white pedestals of Susan's display give her booth a nice gallery feeling, really highlighting the pieces. And the fresh flowers make a gorgeous focal point.

You can find Susan and her work in space R7 on the West Park Block. Stop by and have a look!
