This month's winner is Glenn Kreiss, Glass Dance
Imagine having to design an 8'x8' structure out of 2"x2" lumber that will display large glass pieces beautifully, yet be sturdy enough to keep them secure in a nice stiff breeze... Glenn Kreiss has done a great job of meeting that challenge. His booth has a nice, airy and open feel that highlights his beautiful work, yet it feels plenty supportive as well. It also captures the natural light and uses it to show off the irridescent glass and interesting textures of his work.
Glenn has been working in fused glass for more than fifteen years. His use of color, texture and form is innovative and imaginitive. You'll find lots of bugs, birds, sea life and other animals in much of his work. Glenn makes a wide variety of items ranging from earrings and small tiles to mirror frames, vases and large platters. Since glass is one of the most difficult art forms to photograph well, I strongly suggest you stop by and see these pieces for yourself!!
Glenn sets up his beautiful booth regularly in space 116, which is on the south end of the East Block, west of the Stage.
