Yes, I remember it well. Holiday Market, 2005, and all of the sudden Market women everywhere were traipsing about in lovely jeweled, flowered headdresses. They kept telling me I neeeeded one! Of course they were right, and of course I bought one - the first of several... Taryn (in the picture) and Pamela Scudder (her mother, pictured below assisting a customer) are the women responsible for the continuing trend, though I suppose the continuance is due in part to the celebratory nature of Eugene and all its festivals. That and the sheer delightful beauty of their work. There's always a fresh new design or variation on the theme in the booth, the latest is adorable headbands. They also make barettes, combs, and the cutest little hats.

Their display uses clever wooden display pieces that hold the headdresses along the sides of the booth. This leaves plenty of room for customers to step in and try on the various looks, and admire in the mirrors. The neverending variety of styles and combinations of silk and fabric flowers, fluffy yarns, wire, crystal and beads are fun to browse and try on, and there's always a smile and a helping hand to make them fit just right.
